And yet, often better than a master of one. Many folks don’t know that that’s how the original saying actually ends — or that it’s a philosophy I live by. My other favorite? Specialization is for insects.
I believe that all humans are multi-faceted, dynamic, and multi-skilled, and that to pigeon-hole ourselves by doing the same thing day in and day out actually stunts our creativity rather than honing it. My life has been a testament to that ideology, as I’ve worked in everything from housekeeping, food service, and retail to high-end media sales and event coordination.
These experiences have given me a full-picture view of how media and event sales come together: from envisioning the event, securing the venue, and lining up sponsors, to finalizing the BEO, coordinating with staff and vendors, and sending everyone home happy.
At the end of the day, I’m a relationship manager and a problem solver.
